Terrence Black is a thirty eight year old recovering alcoholic and music obsessive who has never had a serious girlfriend. He meets Angela, a fellow booze addict, through an alcoholism treatment programme. Despite Angela apparently being gay, the two embark on an intense, rollercoaster, sadomasochistic affair where the boundaries between love and obsession and consent and abuse become increasingly blurred.
